Just another blog about music, football, fashion, reviews, photography and stuff.
Wigan v Wolves
Not a great start for either side. I watched Wolves last week and they certainly don’t lack desire, but have they got the quality required to stay up? I’m not so sure. Wigan have picked up a little in the last few weeks and I can see home advantage counting.
My Prediction: 1-0 - Result: 2-0
Birmingham City v Everton
Logic says that at some point soon things surely must start clicking into place for Everton. The trouble for them is that St Andrews is not the place to go when you’re under pressure and needing points to starve off a crisis. I fancy Birmingham to take all three points.
My Prediction: 2-1 - Result: 0-2
Stoke City v Blackburn
Not the most appealing of matches is it? Last Sunday’s late win at Newcastle will have given Stoke a massive boost of confidence but Blackburn are stubborn and tough to break down. All square.
My Prediction: 1-1 - Result: 1-0
Sunderland v Manchester United
You just never know with Sunderland. United have a good record against them, but I have a feeling this could be the black cats day. With a goalscorer like Darren Bent in the side and a passionate crowd behind them then this could be the day when Brucie finally gets one over Fergie.
My Prediction: 2-0 - Result: 0-0
Spurs v Aston Villa
Always a mouth watering prospect. The main worry about my team Villa is the midfield battle, will we be over ran? Can Emile Heskey keep up his good form? Have the defence finally come good? Houllier has given them a boost and I think a point will be a good result at White Hart Lane.
My Prediction: 1-1 - Result: 2-1
West Brom v Bolton
Albion - and their supporters - are a breath of fresh air at the moment, and I can’t see anything much for them to fear with the visit of Bolton. The Hawthorns will be expectant and there will be a great atmosphere to carry the team on to another three points.
My Prediction: 1-0 - Result: 1-1
West Ham v Fulham
West Ham look a different side to the one that played Villa on the opening day. They look as if they’ve turned the corner, but Fulham have some steel and resolve so I think they may have to settle for a point.
My Prediction: 0-0 - Result: 1-1
Manchester City v Newcastle
I was really suprised with Newcastle after last week’s home defeat against Stoke, but they do look the sort of side that can bounce back - and I can’t see them being dragged into trouble this season. But City are going to be a very tough nut to crack at home and I can’t see beyond three points for them.
My Prediction: 3-0
Liverpool v Blackpool
My heart really wants to say Ian Holloway will fancy his chances here and that Liverpool might crack if Blackpool start brightly. There’s too much (unfair) pressure on Roy Hodgson in my view, and I think he will get things moving with time. I just can’t see Liverpool losing this one.
My Prediction: 2-0
Chelsea v Arsenal
I think Wenger will really be up for winning this one and Arsenal will want to stay on Chelsea’s toes. We all know how lethal Chelsea are at home and what a potent scoring threat they have..but I just fancy Arsenal to pinch all three points.
My Prediction: 1-2
